The power is out

......but it is beautiful. This picture does not do the landscape justice after the ice storm.
It was fun for the first night using candles, but not when there was no heat.

Happy Hannah

You were just a couple months old when Grandpa and Grandma came to visit and I remember Grandpa commenting on how you were so smiley and dubbed you: Happy Hannah.
You are our happy girl and oh so happy that you are now 5. Today was a long awaited day!
Dad was impressed you picked pesto pizza and then a list of vegatables: red peppers, not green and yellow and orange peppers, nothing hot and pesto pizza.
I was so glad you were content with a ricecrispie cake.
Actually it was good, covered in chocolate, that was your idea.
The crew.
Mom, mom, take a picture of me.
You kept pestering me to get the mail. "Grandma said that there was something in the mail."
It came!  Drew always take it upon himself to read the card to all.

Trying to model the clip on earrings, but I think it became a squeezing contest,
what sisterly love.

St. Nicholas Day

This will be our first year experiencing a "santa's helper" from the first child to find out.
I attended Advent by Candelight at the parish to come home and find surprises to me.
The kids had remembered to put shoes out and were considerate of Dad and clean carpet.
-Note the spelling
In Dad's shoe: licoriesh...just drawn on the paper
 Love, Santu
Its the thought that counts.

Little T

Goofy boys

Party favors from our god daughters bday party. The Dad picked out some fun boy items.

Ho-ho

No, we are not talking St. Nick here. Louis' vocab is still limited, yet we understand most he says.
Ho-ho = horse and it is his favorite thing. I think his love was kicked off from the Misty movie Grandma shared with us.
He carries 1 of the 3 ho-ho books around with him or one of the horses from the toy box wherever he goes and just loves for the books to be read.
Here he is giving out a whinny.

Little Golfer

The last of our tomatoes finally!
We had so many little cherry t's this year, the kids were continually being sent out to pick them, Pat would come and see that I had neglected the duty and pick a big container...so I had lots in the fridge. We had a lot of chili; the vitamix was perfect for pureeing them.
Well this was the last bit and I had let them sit too long so I was sorting the good from the bad. Louis took it his responsibility to make it sure they all made it to the sink hole guided by his spoon, putter.

Happy All Souls

I did not realize until I walked out the door, you kids had moved all the decorations around.

Since it was far too muddy and rainy to go and walk through the cemetery like last year,
we just enjoyed an icecream cemetery at home and prayed for our special souls.
In our Mass for All Saints, they sang How Great thou Art...then again on Sunday....I couldnt help but think of you Theresa, my sister Saint in Heaven singing the words "thru the forest glades I wander....as I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.....atop the lofty mountain grandeur".

Of course all the kids had to squabble over the white gravestones made for Daddy,
since he is not fond of chocolate.

Happy All Saints!

The kids All Saints Party at school. Isabelle was St. Helen. Drew was St Vincent De Paul.
It was so nice staying in this night, we didnt bother even going out to trick or treat.
It was rainy, was our excuse and we had not even carved the pumpkins.
BTW: Drew is the "headless horseman."

I will take both!

You made my day!

I felt a bit like Ben this year, trying to avoid others recognizing my birthday, but it backfired.
I had our encounter scheduled for the morning and of course the kids had the fridge adorned with their homemade gifts in gift bags. I told kids to find a place to put them until the ladies were gone...just "so they dont feel bad they didnt know it was my birthday".
Well, Patti showed up and did know it was my birthday somehow and brought some
doughnut holes to enjoy with our coffee.
Midway thru our mtg, Kevin shows up with Stella
(I thought to hang out until Susan was thru tching at the school), 15 min later Mom L. shows up.
I thought...oh maybe she wants to go to lunch since Kevin is here and she gave me her bday card.
10 min later the phone rings and Hannah gave the phone to Grammie (b/c I was just going to ignore)
Well, it was Pat, he wanted to talk to me. I felt a bit irritated: couldnt we just finish our mtdg?
He asked if Mom could proxy for me and I wait by the door so he could pick me up for lunch.
(That explained why Mom and Kevin were there: to bsit!)
Pat and I left our house....full of company...and enjoyed lunch (or bfast for me) at the
French Laundry where Pat knows I like going. On our way out, we picked up a
loaf of good bread for our fondue (Isabelle had decided) for dinner.
Pat picked up the kids from school (he had taken off the rest of the day and picked up supplies for ice cream sundaes.
Ready for fondue?
Only candle we had right on hand, w/in reach at the last moment.
Thank you so much Pat and kiddos, it was a fun day.
It means so much that you took 1/2 the day off for me Pat!
..............and made it a surprise. :)

Harvest Day and the Pumpkin Patch

Grandma I wish you were here to help eat all these tomatoes!
Fundraiser for the seminarians, one of the families from school had a Pumpkin Patch Day
with hay rides, goodies etc on their farm.
 Hannah lost the goat.

It took Louis a while to be brave up there by himself. Then he didnt want to get down.
